Ming Dynasty
The vase sturdily-potted with an ovoid body rising from a slender splayed foot to a flared rim, the exterior freely-carved with foliate motifs above the fluted foot and covered in an elegant celadon glaze.
Note:
A comparable vase is illustrated in Roger Keverne, ‘Fine and Rare Chinese Works of Art and Ceramics – Summer Exhibition’, London, 2010, no. 33, which exhibits the fluted foot and freely-carved floral motifs to the body and neck that are characteristic of Ming-era Longquan celadon vases.
