A very large Famille Rose ‘Peacock’Vase

A large Famille Rose ‘Peacock’ vase, late Republic Period. This imposing vase is painted to the exterior with a detailed depiction of a strutting peacock with feathers in full display, perched atop of a rocky outcrop above an ongoing bird and large flowering peonies, the rim painted with cash symbols and a leafy pendent design in iron-red and gilt enamels, the reverse side with a poem in black calligraphy and with a six- character Qianlong mark in iron-red on a gilt ground. 60cm high
